Dear Family and Friends.
I don't have a lot of writing motivation today, so this one is going to be a bit shorter.
Monday: Did the P-Day thing, did laundry, wrote my mum a letter, cleaned, worked out, and played games with some recent converts! (Jonathan and Crystal)
Tuesday: Tis a blur, but what I can remember is that we found a new investigator, ms Tina Romero, an 84 year old who would like to learn more! Talk about humility!
Wednesday: We had a special missionary broadcast in which Elder Bednar, Elder Oaks, and other General Authorities instructed us in Teaching Repentance and Baptizing Converts. It was super good! This work is exploding right now, its so amazing! God is Great!
Thursday: We helped Sister Appleby move stuff around and prepare to move! I pulled a small support muscle connected to my ribs and my spine and it hurts just a smidgen to breath, but I will pull through!
Friday: We had an awesome District Meeting in which we gave a blessing to everyone in the district! It was so powerful! We then went on exchanges where I interviewed an awesome kid named James for baptism! This guy wants to go to Africa on his mission, isn't that sweet!! My companion Elder Reimer was super sick though so we were in the apartment for the rest of the time. -_-
Saturday! James Low was baptized! He bore such a powerful testimony and I am so grateful that God sent us to his door! and he wants to help with missionary work!! Such a solid guy! We then went and met with 2 Part member families who both agreed to take the lessons! The work is so awesome! We also talked to a guy named Roger who believes that God wouldn't have just one church, but He would just let us choose. Well brothers and sisters, if that was the case, then we wouldn't have commandments, or scriptures, and Christ would never have said "come follow me" or "I am the way". I testify that 2000 years ago, Christ set up His church. Then, over the course of a century, that Church and the authority to lead that Church, the Priesthood, was taken off the earth by wickedness. The Apostles who had been given the Priesthood by Christ were killed. And now, 2000 years later, because God loves us, that same Church has been restored. It was brought about by the power of God through a boy named Joseph Smith. And I cannot express how grateful I am to be apart of it.
Sunday: I had the honor to confirm James a member of the Church and confirm upon him the gift of the Holy Ghost. We then weekly planned all afternoon and had a great dinner with a great family from the promised land (Arizona)
As I ponder the Savior's life and what He did for me, my heart is full of gratitude for the knowlege and testimony I have of Jesus Christ. I love Him dearly for He truly bore my griefs and my sorrows. I have felt the redeeeming power of His Atonement. It has mended my broken soul and saved me from my own mistakes. I testify that it is only by Him that we are saved, and I am so grateful for that.
I love and miss you all!
Love,
Elder Rogers
