Well the last two weeks have been pretty interesting. I wont really go into detail about the week before but it sufficeth me to say it was like 24 weeks or so.
I don't know where my ability to write a ton about my life went, but here is how this last week went.
Monday: another P-day another day of boardgames.
Tuesday: We got snowed in. all day long. We had 11 super fly lessons planned that day and taught one. literally my least favorite day of my mission so far. I could never imagine doing that by choice. I have trying harder to live up to my Baptismal covenant by always remembering Christ. It isn't always easy, but it is most definitely worth it. I have been privileged to feel the Spirit more often because of it.
Wednesday: We did work in Las Animas today, and had two member present lessons, which was awesome. We invited a friend of ours to take the lessons again, but he declined. I hope one day the Spirit pierces his heart.
Thursday: We had quite the miracle day. We taught 9 lessons, found 3 new investigators, and committed one to baptism. I love being a missionary and just doing work. Faith truly proceeds the miracle, and I've been striving to take my faith to the next level. It is so worth it. Remember, faith is a choice. It is a principle of action and power. and it proceeds miracles.
Friday: We had Zone Training which was super uplifting! unfortunately the rest of the day I unusually exhausted. Which made it a bummer day.
Saturday: We got to teach a ton of people today too and had some great experiences. I was called to repentance by an old lady, but really by the spirit, but that is A-Okay. That is how we learn right?
Sunday: You wont believe this, but no one wanted to talk to us because of the super bowl. When the Broncos won there were literally fire works and drunk people riding up and down the street. It was ridiculous.
I just want to take a second and bare my testimony of opposition in all things, and how Jesus Christ has felt all opposition and knows exactly how to help us through it.Being a missionary is about opposistion. I am being attacked everyday for what I believe. Whether by seen or unseen forces, the opposition is real. and its hard, and it tries my faith. And for that I am grateful. Untried faith isnt worth beans. I testify that God lives, and that He wants us back. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, and it is through Jesus Christ that we make it back. The Father and the Son called Joseph Smith to be a prophet, and Joseph Smith did indeed translate the Book of Mormon, and it is in all reality the word of God, another testament of Jesus Christ. This is the only true and living Church. The Priesthood is real, I have seen miracles wrought by it through faith in Jesus Christ. I bare witness that I was called to Colorado Springs because God wanted me here. He loves me and I love Him. I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen
I love and miss yall! you should write me a letter!
Love,
Elder Rogers
