Dear Family,
Here is a new saying for all of you: " its the Nugs" Nugs referring to Chicken Nuggets, because, what is better than that?
This week was super delicious to the taste, because of the awesome things that happened! I suppose the biggest thing is that Colorado Springs has a new stake, the High Plains Stake! It was historically momentous to gather with the saints to create a new stake in Zion, that signifies the growth of the Church in the area! Also, got to meet Elder C. Scott Grow, of the Seventy. He is pretty cool.
So the really cool stuff that happened this week, besides stuff that none of you care about, and that I won't share here, is that we picked up two really promising investigators. One is a guy named Tyler who is dating one of my favorite family's daughter. He was totally down to take the lessons and learn more. Hopefully, that goes well! The other investigator is named Gray Thomas and he had a baptism date ready to go, but didn't make it. He said that he wants to take the lessons again as well!
The work here is amazing, I'm so grateful to God for his willingness to bless us for our efforts! "Just keep swimming"-Dori.
For Mom. I haven't gotten my package yet :( And my camera has been out of commission since I can't find my charger :( I love Elder Burrows, he and I are brothers. He did Aesthetic body building back home, so he understands me like no one else haha. Our investigators are doing good, we just picked up two new ones who have a lot of potential. I'm super stoked for this area, I just love being a missionary, its the nugs! Right now we are doing the church's Christmas initiative, which is Light the World. No party, but we are doing a gift exchange among the district, just like back home! I love being a district leader that way, we get to do fun stuff like that all the time. This district is family.
I want to bare my testimony that I know that the Atonement of Jesus Christ is real and infinite. Nothing else satisfies. I know that as I've tried my best to repent and change and come unto him, I have been washed clean. The Spirit has born witness to me that I am, and I know of a surety that God cannot lie, and so my guilt is washed away. I know that the Book of Mormon is indeed the Word of God. That it contains the doctrine of Christ, and that from its pages we can find answers to almost any question. I know that God lives and that He loves me. I know that this life is beautiful and amazing and hard and scary and all sorts of things, but most of all, its worth it.
Merry Christmas, #LighttheWorld
Love,
Elder Rogers
P.S. Sorry about the lack of pics, my camera is dead :(
