Vat, It Actually Happened? VAT?

January 2, 2017

Dear Family,

How's it?

So something crazy happened. Well, a few crazy things. I made it through my black out year as a missionary! Now only 8 more months to go! Woohoo! I love being a missionary.

So, I got this call from President Rehm, and he asked me if I would be willing to fufill a mission leadership responsibility. Unfortunately I said yes, and so my brother Elder Burrows will be leaving me. Super bummed about that, but I do get Elder Ward, one of the most solid missionaries I know, super grateful that I get to stay in Stetson Hills ward as well. Im honestly really excited for my comp, he was on my list of companions I wanted.

Our investigator Layla is progressing but is being stubborn about a date, but that's ok, all we can do is invite and teach doctrine. Besides that, we are constantly trying to be better and better and be the missionaries these children of God deserve.

So, mom, I have inherited the Goodwill gene, unfortunately, but I look for quality clothes. For example, I'm wearing an Eighty dollar Banana Republic cardigan right now that I got new for under ten dollars. And I cycle through stuff. I've learned sooo much on my mission, its crazy. And If I can get a  good job than I might take a year off college and work for a year and stay home and spend quality time with the people I love the most. Then kill it at BYU and then get commissioned in the air force and become a flipping doctor and pursue my dreams and be an adult and get married somewhere in the mix, haha,  Absolutely no rush on that!

Mom, I love my family so much and I will never marry someone who doesn't love my family. that just wouldn't be the girl for me. As far as Emma goes, she started dating another dude, and it made me mad, so I put her on blast and told her not to talk to me, but I apologized today and told her that we should just be friends and move on. As of right now, I'm just free floating. Only God knows what is going to happen and right now only He cares. I have finally put all that in the Lord's hand. nothing for me to be concerned with. I'm just gonna date the gym, that's all -
It really is my happy place

I want to bare my testimony that I know that the Atonement of Christ is real. Because of Him, I get to make a new years resolution every day. I get a fresh start. Because of Jesus Christ, I am not only purified, I am sanctified. With no merit of my own, Christ lifts me daily and is there for me moment to moment. He makes up for what I lack, and I know that I lack much. My daily prayer is that I become a better man, and because of my Savior, I can be. So so so grateful for that. I know that this Church is true. I could never deny it. Never go back on it. I know that the Book of Mormon is the truest book. It brings me closer to my Redeemer daily. I know that Colorado is where I need to be. The people and the experiences and the trials are what I need to mature. I wouldn't change my call for the world. May we all come unto the Savior this new year. May we overcome the pettiness of this world and conquer it with the pure love of Christ.

haha been working hard my goal is to be eventually 190 and compete in Aesthetic body building comps with Lakin Burrows, Its gonna be sweet. But as you can see, Ive had a lot of improvement. I can bench over 200 pounds now. Its really nice having a companion who just destroys you at every lift keeps me humble and working. Elder ward will do the same. Im just super grateful for Gods hand in my progress so far. couldn't do it with out Him!

LOVE YOU TO BITS!!
